Understanding the Impact of Insulation Chemistry on Surface Corrosion to Develop More Robust Insulation System Design
This study explored the composition of the corrosion layer that forms on carbon steel after undergoing ASTM C1617 corrosion test protocol. The insulations were studied in their uncompromised state and after repeated wet/dry cycling to examine the long-term efficacy of additives, binders, or corrosion inhibitors.
