Corrosion Under Insulation (CUI) Resource Library

Designing and installing your insulation system to address corrosion under insulation (CUI) is a critical step to preemptively preventing CUI. At Johns Manville, we recognize that this task includes incorporating many details from material specifications to the latest research and technology. We have researched this crucial topic extensively and have created a library of resources to help you design and install better systems. Here you’ll find Insulation Intel? webinars, blogs, technical bulletins, infographic and eBooks to support your CUI mitigation strategy.

Understanding the Impact of Insulation Chemistry on Surface Corrosion to Develop More Robust Insulation System Design
This study explored the composition of the corrosion layer that forms on carbon steel after undergoing ASTM C1617 corrosion test protocol. The insulations were studied in their uncompromised state and after repeated wet/dry cycling to examine the long-term efficacy of additives, binders, or corrosion inhibitors.

Presenter:?Marybeth Jones, Product Engineer
Date:?Tuesday, June 16
Time:?10:00 AM - 10:25 AM

Impact of System Design on Insulation Drying Time After Water Ingress
This study examines the role of system design on insulation drying time after water ingress. The presence of water in a system is undesirable because it increases the risk for corrosion under insulation (CUI).?

Presenter: Natalia Maximova, Senior Product Engineer
Date: Tuesday, June 17
Time: 9:10 AM - 9:35 AM

Forum - Corrosion Under Insulation: Materials, Fundamental, Identification & Mitigation
This forum will discuss the materials and mechanisms of corrosion under insulation (CUI), and how to identify and prevent or mitigate CUI problems.

Presenter: Scott Sinclair, Regional Technical Manager
Date: Wednesday, June 17
Time: 1:00 PM - 4:00 PM
